For advanced players, lessons will be focused on helping players advance their skills and awareness of performance practice in particular musical genres, as well as techniques such as sonic effects including flutter tonguing, multiphonics, quarter tones. Students will also learn to master the altissimo range.
These ‘extra technique’ skills are necessary for mastery of musical scores, whether they be classical, jazz or rock/pop, where players are looking to create a performance that has that extra edge.
Instruction includes preparation for diplomas, advanced performance certificates, post graduate performance degrees, and tips for competition playing are all available. As a four times competition winner including two UK national competitions, Andrew McNeill can help players focus on their communication skills when performing at a high level.
Additionally, lessons can include discussion about the psychology and neuroscience of music performance.
